Surf Snowdonia is the longest man-made surfable waves on the planet where you can freesurf, have surfing lessons or tackle the Crash & Splash water-based obstacle lagoon and blobbing. Roughly the size of six football fields it has a 2 metre high barrelling wave that starts at the centre of the lagoon, peels perfectly for more than 150 metres, and dissipates softly as it hits the shore.
Freesurfing sessions are available to beginner, intermediate and advanced surfers with different areas of the lagoon used for different abilities.
The Surf Academy aims to help as many people as possible to get out there and experience riding a wave in lessons that last two hours. The team of friendly and professional surf coaches will help you get the most out of your time on the water whether this is your first time or you're an experienced surfer. Board hire is included in the cost for all beginner lessons and if you're an intermediate or advanced surfer can you bring your own board or they're available to hire, as are wetsuits.
The Crash and Splash Lagoon is your opportunity to push your agility, balance and determination to the limits. This watery assault course will see you grappling with giant spinning balls, monkey bars, climbing walls, balance beams and rope bridges.
The Blob is a large air-filled rubber tube for two people - the "blobber" and the "jumper". The blobber sits at the end of the blob while the jumper climbs a 4.5 metre tower and jumps down on to the blob catapulting the blobber high into the air - guaranteed to put a smile on both faces!
Thrill seekers must be over the age of 12 for the Crash & Splash course with The Blob but there is a modified family version course which excludes The Blob which is suitable for children aged 5+. Surf lessons are available for kids with Little Rippers aimed at 5-7 year olds and Groms for 8-13 year olds.
