With the January blues now firmly behind us, we are looking forward to the start of spring with these forthcoming events in and around Llandudno …

February

11th February – Wales U20s Six Nations

Rugby fans rejoice! Wales U20s first home game takes place at the Stadiwm Eirias Stadium, Colwyn Bay where the team take on France. A fantastic opportunity to see the up and coming talent in Welsh Rugby.

15th February – Burn the Floor – Venue Cymru

The perfect night for fans of Strictly Come Dancing! Burn the Floor comes to Venue Cymru for one night only! The show which has now been running for more than two decades, promises to ‘set the stage alight’ with stunning chorography of dances such as the Tango, Rhumba and the Waltz. This tour is starring Strictly Come Dancing’s Kevin Clifton along with an ensemble of dancers, singers and a live band.

2nd – 27th February – Art Exhibitions – Oriel Ffin y Parc Gallery 

One for lovers of Welsh art! North Wales born, Anna Davies and Swansea based Katie Allen both have exhibitions at Oriel Ffin y Parc Gallery, which represents over forty artists, all of which share strong connections with Wales.  This wonderful venue started in 2010 and is set over two floors and boasts a coffee shop and wine bar. March

5th – 6th March – North Wales Choir Festival – Venue Cymru

Bathe in a weekend of glorious singing! The annual North Wales Choir Festival returns to Llandudno’s Venue Cymru with a weekend full to the brim of singing talent. Competitions take place on both days as well as The Festival Celebration Concert on Saturday evening.

28th March – 3rd April – Snooker’s Cazoo Tour Championship – Venue Cymru

Snooker is back in Llandudno with the Cazoo Tour Championship returning to Venue Cyrmu. The baize will be loaded with the top eight players on the planet including Ronnie O’Sullivan, John Higgins, Neil Robertson and Zhao Xintong.

This is an opportunity to see all of the best players during snooker’s golden age, when the standard of play and level of entertainment is higher than ever. For tickets and more information see here.

26th  March – Ghost Hunt – Penrhyn Old Hall

For those who like to be spooked, why not take a trip to Penrhyn Old Hall and brave their Ghost Hunt? Dating as far back as the 14th Century and shrouded in mystery, stories of murder, skeletons, and more plague this medieval home.

If you dare to brave the evening you may glimpse the monk who wonders the rooms or the young girl who met her demise at the hands of her sisters.

Saturday 16th April – The Llandudno Easter 5k Promenade Dash

Fancy taking on The Llandudno Easter 5k Promenade Dash? After a two year break due to the pandemic, this popular event is back! Perfect for both novice and experienced runners, the flat course offers a great location for an introduction to 5k runs or recording a personal best. Best of luck!

26th – 30th April – Welsh National Opera – Venue Cymru

A feast of productions for Opera lovers with not one, but three shows to choose from. The season starts with the much-loved classic Madame Butterfly followed by Don Giovanni and finishing with Jenufa. Better still why not treat yourself to a theatre break in Llandudno? The Imperial Hotel’s Chantrey’s Restaurant will be opening early with tables available from 5pm, (booking essential), to ensure the perfect start to your evening.

30th April – 2nd May – The Llandudno Victorian Extravaganza

Perfect for the whole family, Wales’ largest free to attend event returns for its 36th year. The Victorian themed event has much to offer from various stalls and exhibitions to a programme full of entertainment shows and the daily highlight of the midday parade. Find out more.

Don’t forget – The Colwyn Bay Market takes place every Tuesday and Saturday between 9 am and 4 pm in the centre of the town on Station Road and Sea View Road.  You will be treated to a selection of stalls which include; fresh Welsh produce, fashion, music as well as items for the home and garden.
