Family Fun: Easter Activities and Events in North Wales

Is it really an Easter Half Term without Easter egg hunts, eating too much chocolate and springtime family fun? No, we thought not! That’s why we’ve compiled a few family-friendly activities and events to add to the calendar to keep everyone entertained this Easter.

 

Easter egg hunts galore!

 

Bodnant Garden Easter Egg Hunt – 29th March – 1st April

The Easter Egg Hunt at Bodnant Garden is back. Located in Conwy, families can take to the trail and explore the gardens whilst wearing their bunny ears and enjoying nature-inspired activities – find out all about why insects are important for the garden and tuck in to your delicious chocolate egg.

Plas Newydd Easter Trail and Spring Show – 23rd March – 1st April

Wander the beautiful gardens and grounds of the mansion house, Plas Newydd, in Llanfairpwll on Anglesey. Take to the Easter trail, complete with your bunny ears and enjoy your chocolate egg.

Easter Adventures at Penrhyn Castle – 23rd – 1st April

A family-fun adventure – discover the nature trail at Penrhyn Castle with carved woodland creatures, instruments to find and play in the woods and an easter tea party in the Walled Garden. There’s even an egg and spoon race!

GreenWood Family Park

From the exhilarating people-powered Green Dragon Roller Coaster and solar-powered Solar Splash ride, to self-powered River Ride adventure and the problem-solving Dragon Maze – there’s something for all ages to love at GreenWood Family Park. And if it’s not the weather for outdoor exploring, that’s not a problem, visit the WoodBarn Café and Soft Play to burn off all of that excess Easter chocolate energy.

North Shore Beach

You need not venture far for outdoor ventures, aur seaside hotel overlooks the sheltered North Shore Beach, the perfect place for a springtime stroll and play just steps from your hotel room.

Llandudno Pier

Walk the longest pier in Wales and admire the great bay of North Shore Beach, lined with elegant hotels, many unchanged since Victorian times, and the great Eryri (Snowdonia) range a most striking backdrop. Play traditional arcade games and eat ice cream as you enjoy wandering along our famous pier.

Alice in Wonderland Town Trail

A fun town trail that everyone can follow and a great way to get to know our charming Victorian seaside resort of Llandudno and the enchanting connection with Lewis Carroll. It’s believed that the famous author wrote part of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland whilst spending time in Llandudno and fans of Alice have been celebrating and visiting the area for many years. The trail begins outside the Tourist Information Centre where you can look out for Alice in Wonderland themed sculptures sprinkled around town – can you and your team of explorers find them all!

Aber Falls walk

A beautiful walk just a short drive from our Llandudno hotel and generally considered an easy family-friendly trail. The Aber Falls out-and-back walk is around 4.2 km and takes you along the valley to the impressive Aber Falls, particularly spectacular after heavy rain, passing remnants of Iron Age settlements and the Aber Valley Hut Circle on the way.

Andy & The Odd Socks: Are You Ready to Rock?! Tour at Venue Cymru – 7th April

If you know Andy & The Odd Socks from the TV you’ll know what kind of silliness and fun to expect on stage! Bringing a live show of songs, slapstick and silliness to life to entertain the whole family.

Conwy & the Tan y Ddraig Ceramic Cafe

Wander the historic walled town of Conwy, visit the impressive fortress of Conwy Castle and then head to the wonderful pottery painting studio. A creative and relaxing activity for all ages and abilities, especially when the weather is not looking so good. The studio team will be there to help with hints and tips, as you create something special to remind you of your family break.

Make it a family half term and embrace the opportunity to reconnect, get outside and enjoy a short break together. When it is time to relax, we have spacious family rooms and suites to accommodate everyone, as well as a Health & Fitness centre with invigorating spa bath, sauna and steam room for mum and dad, and the pool for the children (when accompanied by an adult). Whatever fun takes your fancy this Easter half term, a visit to Llandudno and our seafront hotel will be the ideal base of your explorations.
