Day Trip 1: Coastal Drive, Walk and Waterfall

Set off on the 15-mile scenic coastal drive to Abergwyngregyn, where you will find the Aber Falls car park. From here you can enjoy a beautiful walk along the foothills of the Carneddau mountain range to Aber Falls, a spectacular 120-foot waterfall. An easily accessible gently undulating valley walk through patches of woodland on a well signposted trail.

(Make yours a shorter Aber Falls walk, around 2.4 miles, to the waterfall and back, or extend it and make it a longer 4-mile loop.

Now that you’ve worked up an appetite, drive just 1.2-miles to the Aber Falls Distillery with visitor centre and café. Enjoy a bite to eat and then their 1-hour distillery tour learning all about their 100% single malt Welsh Whisky and sampling their award-winning spirits.

It’s been a busy day; time to head back to our hotel in Llandudno where you can sit and enjoy the views of the day with a cup of tea.

Head down to our swimming pool for a couple of hours of total relaxation. Ease tired muscles in the spa bath and unwind in the sauna and steam room.

Day Trip 2: Sea, Sun, Summits and Shows

Start the day with a walk along the Promenade to our charming Llandudno Pier. Wander along, enjoying the stalls, amusement games, and of course, the far-reaching sea views but don’t forget to look back when you reach the end to take in the spectacular mountains of Eryri National Park, the most picturesque backdrop. Keen eyes can spot our hotel along the bay.

From the beachfront, make your way into the town of Llandudno, peruse the many independent antique shops, galleries and boutiques and stop at a local café for a coffee.

Head back to our Llandudno hotel for long relaxing lunch at Chantrey’s Restaurant. This afternoon you’re staying close to home because tonight you have tickets for a performance at the nearby Venue Cymru.

After lunch go for walk up the Great Orme, one of the most popular local walks. The grand limestone headland draws many visitors year-round. It’s a protected nature-reserve and a designated Country Park that’s bursting with life and history, a wonderful habitat for seabirds and butterflies. Reach the summit by following the Summit Trail signs. Look out for native wildlife, including the impressive Kashmiri Goats that have been roaming these slopes for over 200 years.

Make your way back to the hotel. Tonight it’s an early dinner at The Terrace so you’re ready to head out for the show. Just a short walk from our Llandudno hotel we have the wonderful Venue Cymru with unforgettable performances, film, music and experiences guaranteed to stir the emotions.

Snowdon Mountain Railway

Day Trip 3: Train Rides and Mountain Views

Hop in the car, today you’re driving approximately 28-miles to the town of Llanberis, the main hub for those walking up Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), or for you, heading up on the train. Go to the Snowdon Mountain Railway station where your journey begins. Booking in advance is always advised, when you can choose between either the Traditional Diesel Service or the Heritage Steam Service.

They advise allowing yourself around 3.5 hours for the full experience. The beautiful train ride takes you to the summit of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) where you’ll have a 30-minute stopover. There is a café, toilets and giftshop so you can take your summit snap, enjoy a coffee and then hop back on board for the delightful views on the descent.

After your wonderful train ride, drive further into Eryri and along Pen-y-Pass to the Lookout car park for impressive valley and mountain views.

Take a different, scenic drive back through the mountains, past Swallow Falls and through the picture-postcard village of Betws-y-Coed. Stop here for a wander, a coffee or a spot of shopping at the many outdoor and gift shops.

Time to go back to our hotel in Llandudno to get ready for a romantic dinner in Chantrey’s.

Day Trip 4: Discover Anglesey’s Beaches, Bays and Beaumaris

Today you swap your seaside Llandudno base for the beautiful bays, beaches and Castell Beaumaris of Ynys Mon (Angelsey).

The elegant seaside town of Beaumaris is around 28-miles away and home to Castell Beaumaris – the UNESCO World Heritage Site known as the ‘greatest castle never built’. The masterpiece and royal stronghold was destined to be Edward I’s greatest castle but diminishing funds meant building had stopped by the 1320s.

Drive north along the coast to discover some beautiful bays and beaches; walk along the sweeping Red Wharf Bay, on the golden sands of Benllech Beach and discover the peaceful Lligwy Beach.

With lungs filled with fresh sea air and sand in your shoes, make your way back to the comfort of our Llandudno hotel for a relaxing Afternoon Tea in the lounge, knowing you’ve experienced even more of North Wales.

One destination with endless experiences. Whatever you’re searching for on your next scenic break in Llandudno, you’ll find it here.

Awake to the sound of the sea and lunch within the rugged beauty of Eryri National Park and its indescribable mountains; wander along the sweeping beaches and bays and drive down valleys and meander through charming local villages. Then, back in the familiar, you’ll sleep soundly to the crashing waves, ready for tomorrow’s ventures.
