For those seeking a shorter walk, set out for a ‘there-and-back’ along the West Shore Coast Path or head to the end of Llandudno Pier – a must-do for the breathtaking backdrop of Eryri’s’ (Snowdonia) mountains, or head towards the Little Orme and Angel Bay.
There are longer routes like the circular trail around the impressive limestone headland that is the Great Orme, for what many have described as ‘the best views in Llandudno.’ Or you can drive less than 5 miles to reach Conwy town, where you can make your way up to Mynydd y Dref or ‘Conwy Mountain’ for a 2 – 3-hour hike and spectacular views over Conwy Bay.
Another wonderful way to spend a mother-daughter day trip in Llandudno is to discover some local attractions together. From wandering along the famous Llandudno Pier for its shops, stalls and arcade games, and of course, the views, to visiting local museums, galleries and antique shops.
Perhaps a spot of shopping or finding a treasure of your own at the Llandudno Antiques and Collectables Centre is your idea of a perfect Mother’s Day, or heading to the Llandudno Museum & Gallery which tells the story of our seaside resort town through its fine collection of more than 9,000 artefacts.
For more local history, discover the remarkable Conwy Castle, a 700-year-old medieval fortress and a fascinating site to explore. Spend a morning walking around its battlements and climbing ancient staircases to lofty towers to take in the breathtaking views of Conwy’s coast.
